My name is Ann-Katrin and I was born and raised in Schwäbisch Gmünd. This small town is situated around 50 km away from Stuttgart, the main capital of southwest Germany. Schwäbisch Gmünd is a historic place in the Swabian Alps, surrounded by a beautiful landscape.
I went to the primary and secondary school in Stuttgart where I passed my A- levels in April 2008. After this, I started my studies at Les Roches Gruyère University of Applied Sciences in July 2008. Hospitality Management was always something that really interested me.
Now, I am 22 years old and I am studying already in the 4th semester of the Bachelor of Science program at the Bulle Campus in Switzerland. As two different internships are required to do during the studies, I decided to go to France in my first internship. I already learned French in school, but I wanted to take the chance to improve my French language skills and get an inside view into French hospitality.
Therefore, I worked for six months in the Four Seasons Hotel George V, which allowed be to work with international guests.
From June 2010 to December 2010, I worked in the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Berlin in the Sales and Marketing Department. I did my second internship in Germany, because I thought that it is also necessary to get to know the hospitality industry in my home country.
Since the last working experience in Berlin, two semesters of study in Bulle passed by. I am looking forward to let you know all the different things that happen in the everyday life in my studies at the Les Roches Gruyère University of Applied Science.
